So the last two posts were a bit...sad? Solum? It's a strange week. Celebrating 2 birthdays I'm happy for (Or 1 depending on if I like my brother or not at the moment), 1 birthday that is hard on me and awkward for every one else (I never expect comments about posts like that. I don't think people know what to say when it comes to DJ.), and the anniversary of losing my precious Liz...It's a bit of a strange, emotional time all around.
But, back to the silliness, hum?
I got my Springtime Swap Box yesterday! YAY! My partner was the lovely Carla, and I'm very glad I got her. She's terribly cute and sweet. And she sent me all sorts of lovely goodies! (Although, there was a totally hopeless hope that the famous Poverty Sucks poster might be involved. I love this thing! ;-P)
Seriously, though, I love what she sent me. Steve picked my box up from the post office, held it ransom all day until he picked me up from work, and I jumped into that thing like a kid on Christmas morning!
I got:
A lovely hand made apron.
A lovely set of 8 hand made note cards that are adorable beyond words.
A lovely group of 4 of the most incredible doughnuts that have ever headed towards my mouth. MMMM.
And lovely Easter candy. EEE! YES!
Pictures? Of course. Taken on my cell phone, because Better Camera was somewhere else doing something else. Where was that thing? Hurm...
This is (almost) everything that came. Taken outside in late afternoon light.
But now I find myself in one of those situations where I don't ever want to send these off to someone, as they are too, too cute. So...
Thank you, a million times over Carla. I have 3 doughnuts at home I'll enjoy (Steve may or may not get one. Heee) and that apron is totally amazing. I love it, and I am so happy I got you as my partner! I hope you love your box just as much as I love mine! :-D
That's all for now, folks. And Dionne? This Swap idea was amazing. I'm so glad I joined up for it, and will hope to take part in all of them that you do. Summer Swap? Fall Swap? Winter Swap? ;-)
Tata!
You're right - these are sooo cute! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE that apron. I am yet to own one, but when I finally do get one, I want something as cute and sassy as that!
ReplyDeleteThose cards are adorable. What a cool swap! Can't wait to see what you sent!
(Ps - you are right about the DJ posts. I read them, but never know what to say, because I can't imagine what it must feel like, I am afraid I will end up sounding like I am either diminishing it's significance, or making too big a deal of it - just know that I can feel your heart in your words).
Holler for swapping!! Your pictures turned out great... I was so excited to get the package off to you that I sort of forgot to take good pictures of it - so I may just have to steal some from here. :) And the apron and Narwhal are my favorite parts as well... So glad you liked them! And glad we are blogging and swapping friends.
ReplyDeleteI was on BWE and saw your comment on the Life on Mars finale post, and OMG I LOVE ASHES TO ASHES!
ReplyDeleteIt's AMAZING, isn't it? I know you haven't seen the original LoM yet, but it's awesome, and Ashes to Ashes is kind of like LoM only a lot more tongue-in-cheek. I mean, it's practically a rom-com. Nobody REALLY cares that Alex has a daughter somewhere, only that she and Gene Hunt are PERFECT together. And they totally re-did Gene Hunt for A2A. LoM was more drama, more serious. So I get to love both series in totally different ways.
And by the way, don't even expect a kiss scene before the series finale. I totally thought it would happen in the sixth episode, but then the eighth totally screwed it up! Gah! I miss A2A.
So great! You are one lucky dog...well, we all were pretty well pleasantly surprised by our sweet gifts, weren't we? Bless that little Dionne for her creativity, allowing us to share our own!
